Remember that new yurt I told y'all about?

Way back…almost a year ago…on December 5 of 2012 I told you folks about a little yurt project I was starting that involved building a new, second yurt on my property in the north Georgia mountains.  It was to be a smaller, connected yurt that would serve as a bedroom. Note:  A 30 ft yurt is plenty big enough for an individual or couple, and could work for a couple with a small child (read infant), but for a newly married couple (going well, thank you) with a teenage daughter space, and privacy, are rather tight…too tight. Yurt living:  More thoughts on how-to stay warm

Thinking outside the box on keeping your yurt warm. Yurts make for awesome homes…I wouldn’t change my decision to live in one, even after almost 4 years expirience at it.  Yurt living is every bit as good as I had anticipated, and more. With that said, there are a few challenges to yurt living, and keeping one warm is one of them.  While a yurt can be a cozy place in the winter, you really need to think about keeping your home warm a bit differently than you would in a conventionally constructed home.

Pack your bags...try yurt living without commitment!

Hi folks! I hope everyone had as good a Thanksgiving as me and are looking forward to a great celebration of Christ’s birth!  I’m expecting a great Christmas and New Year and hope y’all are too!
