The odd new landing page, and something about yurts!

Some of you may have seen a new landing page when you have come to JuicyMaters in the last several days. If you have been here before and haven’t cleared your cookies and/or browsing history, you may not have seen

anything different other than the alternative housing report available in the signup form in the right sidebar, BUT…

If you are new to JuicyMaters, or if you HAVE cleared your cookies, you have seen the big change…our WelcomeGate page, where you had the opportunity to sigh up for a report on alternative housing.

Rather than explain it all here AGAIN, here is a copy of a comment exchange between a very nice visitor and me that will explain it all.

Who ARE y'all, anyway?

When I ask “who are y’all”, it is YOU I am asking.  Not some other person who might be reading this a city or state or even country away from you..and not even that visiting neighbor who is reading this over your shoulder, but YOU! Light my fire...er...yurt

The only place, really, for outlets is around the perimete of a yurtr, and who wants lamp cords running all over the place? The only thing you can do to find a place for lights is to look up…but there is no ceiling to install ceiling fixtures on…right? But, there ARE the rafters. Hmmm…

Rafters are the perfect place to install lighting. My electrical system runs from the electrical panel to all areas of the yurt by running the wiring along the outer edge of the yurt at the point where toe wall meets the rafters, with the wiring held in place by zip-tying it to the perimeter tension cable. From here you can go down the wall to low outlets and wall switches…or up along the rafters to lighting…but what kind of lighting?

Hi folks. I have a bit of bad news. Due t my having some extensive dental work done last week, that wasn’t completed when I thought it would be, the “JuicyMaters Living live!” show will not be broadcast this week.

Since there will be no show, neither will there be a recording of it up as a post beginning the next day, as is usual.

Thanks for y’all’s understanding. I have the greatest readers in the world…you!
